Massive Hemorrhage Control

Immediate response protocol to stop severe arterial bleeding before help arrives.

Critical alert

CRITICAL: Massive hemorrhage can be fatal in under 3 minutes. Act immediately.

1

Direct Pressure

Apply strong, continuous manual pressure directly on the wound with a clean cloth or gauze.

2

Tourniquet Application

If pressure fails on a limb, place the tourniquet 5–7 cm above the wound (never over a joint). Turn the windlass until bleeding stops and lock it in place.

3

Time Log

Record the exact application time on the tourniquet (T). Do not loosen it under any circumstances — let medical personnel remove it.
